shifting faster!?

how do I get my 3600dd to shift above 3200rpms? Its killing me racing and takes me sooo long to shift. Especially when it over revs from 2nd to 3rd. I cant Jam any harder. I have the short shifter I just cant get this friggin thing to shift while racing. Any ideas?

What tranny oil are you running? I use Redline MTL and put a extra quart in through the shift tower the last time I changed my clutch.

I may try a Haisley next time I fry a single, but I have been taken care of several times with "abuse" warranty. I drove a SB DD3600 once and I feel your pain. They are definitely the way to go for a sled puller, just not my cup of tea for a racer.

I see ur thread on the 1/4 and way to go! When i just had intake, exhaust, bddl, quad xzt and clutch I was running a 9.4 in the 1/8th. 5k+ later I just got Back Down to the 9.4 from a 10. My turbo kills me on the racing scene. I cant get a lighter clutch b/c I do sled pull a lot. I run mtl in my tranny too.

5600 or g-360?

IMHO it takes a lot of practice to get 2-3 down just right. Practice launching more. Try short (early) shifting the 2-3 shift.

Would yo be able to launch in 3rd and skip to 5th. Peter told me that a true 600 hp truck should have no trouble skipping gears. Expecially if you guys can run 4000k.

I dont think it would work. there would be too much RPM drop and the unnatural hunting for 5th from 3rd in the middle of a race would add too much loss of boost/time. I dont know for sure, maybe someone with the TNT/R tune will chime in.

My Charger would take way to long to relight if i skipped 4th and went straight to 5th and I know I'm over 600hp

Yeah that wouldnt work and 3rd to 4th is the fastest shift. It's mainly the turbo/DD combination. If I had a single and twins shed fly
