Need faster shifting in 6 speed

I recently changed the clutch to a Valair ceramic dual disk, put in a short throw shifter and changed the transmission fluid, and I have noticed that its hard to shift fast. I have adjusted the clutch linkage. Could the oil I used be the problem? Or the short throw shifter?

What year truck do you have and what size dual disk do you have? If you have the NV5600 tranny you can buy and short throw shifter, but if you have the G56 there isnt one and probably wont be. Going to Royal Purple or Amsoil will help a little. I have a SBC DD clutch and it shifts sloowww also, from what I gather if your into drag racing you need to get a Haisley Dual Disk, I guess they shift as fast as you can get them into gear.

looks like he has done the shifter.

the reason that DD's shift slower is the inertia of the discs keep the internals of the trans rotating longer than you are used to. then add in the internal inertia, if you've ever had the trans apart, the shaft and gears are REALLY big, and things must slow to the proper speed for messing. it does take some time.

Shorter shift throw equals reduced leverage and that caused more effort to accomplish shift. The increased inertia of clutch components is a big factor also.
