Has anyone used a brand Carroll Shelby remote starter?
They have a bunch of different series.
If so , good results?
Thank's Windowman

The Techs i get my starters freom, are trying to install a typical remote starters on 06's aren't able to get them to work in the due to the security system.
They've tried both installs with key boxs and thoose with the new sensers that dup the code, to no avail....

Nope, had it done by one of the shops in town that sells cell phones, two ways, starters etc. I do all my own work, tons of fabrication and wrench on big trucks on my days off, but I did NOT want to mess with the remote starter install.

On edit: the shop did have some trouble with the key system, getting that to work properly during the install. It took them about 5-6 hours.

I have the Viper system. Installed by Circut City. Remote start and alarm. Works well. . . . 1/4 mile range. They had to take the guts out of one of my keys . .. that's the down side . . you lose a key. Dealer says a new key is $200.

I did the install on my old POS/PSD and I can handle the wiring....but the guy I get the systems though had just tried to do an install on an 06 and kept throwing all kinds of codes.
I''ve seen some talk of reistors being added and such....
May just wait to I travel through a city and fond someone to do it.

Thanks

You actually don't need to lose a key for a remote start in an '06. Use a newer platform bypass. Losing a key still works but a little expensive. Go with a chdl7pk2 platform and all will be good.

I haven't driven anything newer than a 01 diesel, do the newer ones not have a "wait to start" light?
