Rapid hitch question
Rapid hitch question
I was going to buy a Rapid V-5 hitch inset with the reversable 2" / 2 5/16th *****. Cost $300 plus tax , includes both locking bars.
They say this this, although built of an alluminum alloy, is good for 32,000 pound test.
Proably should be able to pull out any fish I catch !!
No seriously, the guy tried to then sell me another exspensive hitch saying he had heard rumors of it cracking at the stress point. I can't find anything bad about it on Google so just putting the question to the membership here if they have heard anything. Sure is anice looking hitch and never rusts.

I have one. I think it is rated 10,000 pounds.
Usually the 2 5/16 are used on heavy trailers. If it was me, I'd use the rapid for close in stuff and to keep handy. But use a steel hitch on longer hauls if the load was over 8,000 lbs.

I have two of them.. One is a 10" drop... I had to have it with my lifted 05 and now I just have the 6" drop for my 06... I have towed my work trailer that is 30' and just over 10000 without supplies and it works awesome...
I wouldn't hesitate to have one... I love em both...

I could pass on it! The wifey gave me some lip about it. Women just don't understand!
