Ramifier & downloader
Ramifier & downloader
just wondered what everyones opinion was on the difference in running the downloader by bullydog versuses the ramifier. I have the ramifier now, but was thinking about purchasing the downloader. Just wondered how it compared to the ramifier and if it had the low end torque and power in the lower rpm levels like the ramifier does.
thanks,
matt

I have tried them.
The downloader makes very good power but is a pain to change settings. It might be fine in the summer but to change it everytime it snows or when you tow is no fun. It does not feel as strong down low. With a 6sp I could get a lot of smoke if I loaded up the engine (if that's your sort of thing)
The RAMifier feels stronger in the lower RPMs and being able to change it on the fly due to weather and or tow conditions is a very nice thing! It also has lower smoke levels.
As for MPG, I got a slight improvement with the RAMifier and no gain (or loss) with the BullyDog
As you can tell, the RAMifier is on the truck and the Bullydog is not. I do plan on conducting towing test with them this summer to see what EGTs and towing power are like. If not for wanting to test towing, I would sell bullydog.

The Ramifier has really nice power that starts in the low end and goes all the way through the high end...i keep hearing that it has more low end power than the bd downloader..but cannot speak from personal experience..
I do know that the "on the fly" adjustability is a really nice feature...as well as a safe feature for your truck....
