bully dog downloader

I like the idea. No connections, no fooling. Im thinging it should be able to elliminate the speed limiter & rpm limiter. Maybe they could burn a custom program for twins?

I got in touch with them today, currently the programer does not change rev limiter or speed limiter. but they are working on it. Time will tell.

Hey GBB could you give a little more info. This seems like quite the option but noone has given much of a report. Also is it true that it doesn't raise rail pressure much?

And the question of the century; Does it leave a time stamp when you go back to stock?

I would be concerned about the anti-tamper routines Cummins may have incorporated into this ECM with this type of product.

See Cummins patent for more info....

http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-P...ins+AND+tamper

I doubt this technology would be able to detect any external power boxes, but it very well could detect a downloaded type product.

Just food for thought.

I don't have a egt gauge yet, but soon. As far as mileage It seems to be the same maybe a little more, I haven't gotten thru a full tank yet out to figure it out. I don't really believe the overhead. I'm running on the 90hp setting right now, the 130hp setting seems like it is toooo fast. I have no idea about if the dealer can tell if it has been downloaded after you take it off. I've heard yes and no depending on who I hear it from. I know a Dodge dealer locally that sells bully dog products and could probably find out from them (O'HARA dodge Clinton, MI). I can say you can tell instantly when you touch the throttle something is different compared to add on modules where you need to get in the gas before noticing the difference.

Oh, I forgot about the dyno. On the TDR some who has tested one on a 600 posted the results. 428hp the downloader alone and 470hp with a fueling box added.

I saw that post, but I just looked and could not find it again. I thought it had dyno results for an 03 SO, 04 HO, and a 600, all before and after the downloader.

Just got power pup. Install was very easy, but slow it takes around15-20 minutes.
On the extreme setting or I should say cooking setting. the power it's unreal, motor feel electric, no vibrations ( Dr performance stage 3 used to vibrate under acceleration). But the EGT also was unreal. Just accelerating the temps will climb fast to 1600 and had to let go. So not sure of true performance, do not want to cook the motor.

Changed download to performance, (90 hp). Still feel electric, boots instant. extremely fast. Temps 1400, but weather cooling down( 86) so expect ant 96 to be a little more. Times on my G tech a little better than other modules I have try, best the acceleration feels brutal. And the best of all no engine lights .
Fuel economy ??? Just drove the truck to work. Overhead 15.6 on 35 miles city expressway.

Negatives or not used to:
1-Acelerator too touchy, just press and go. This make it harder to cruise for fuel economy
2-First time I see smoke on my truck.

What are the egt's cruising around normally? Was the 1400deg after a 1/4 mile run or just beating it around town?

1400 after 1/4 run, cruise 500 at 65 mph. 700-800 at 80 to 85 mph. Depending how hard the acceleration to reach those speed,
