Question Race Track

Hey guys i know i had done a thread already on this a while ago but i just wanted to ask a quick question just to be sure. As you can see from my sig what all i have but tonight i am going to the race track again dont know if it will be the eighth or the quarter mile yet. Last time i was there i did it in two wheel drive and like usual spun alot and didnt really expect it not to but if i put it in 4Hi and launch say under 10 psi or so should i be alright? Dont want to break the tranny at the track for sure want to be able to get home. Any input would be good cause i would like to see what it is capable of doing with the Smarty on here now.

Thanks

In 4x is the only way to run if you want a good 60' just keep the boosted launchs down around 6-8 psi. I made several passes like that but on the last trip to HRP I left about 15 psi an had to trailer it home with a broke intermediate shaft. This was in an 06 with Smarty and TST running stock turbo and injectors.

You can take out the output shaft if not billet.

They sure won't be good for a mega with 37s and lightly modded transmission.

They work pretty well for me though. But then I have all billet shafts

Right now i am saving for if the tranny ever does go. I kind of do want it to so i can get a new one but dont want to deal with it at the track. Wish i could do 20 psi launches but that aint probably happening. Thanks for the help guys! Lets hope nothing breaks!

Be very careful with those big tires. I wouldn't go over 5 psi. You could probably get away with 10-15 psi if your TC an VB were stock, but since you upgraded them, they are able to transfer more power into and through your tranny. Just food for thought.

We ended up going to HMP 1/8 last night around 8 and they were shut down due to water on the track, their was a minivan turned over in the ditch across the street layin in a bunch of trees and i got a crack out of how they had turned their flashers on lol. Then we headed to HRP and their were 3 other diesels running 2 never saw below 15 and the other was a dmax lbz with custom tuning via efi live by McCrat racing ran a 12.8 and 12.9.

I believe it Pat aka Mcrat really knows how to tune those dura-maxes its very simple with minimal mods to get a duramax to run high 12s with EFI live especially if pat did the programming
