quick question about guages
quick question about guages
hey guys..
i got a quick question about guages. first of all i did a search and couldnt find the answers i was looking for. i just want to know what type of guages you are using. i am getting a 60psi boost guage mechanical...and a fuel pressure and trans temp guage. but what types are you guys using for the fuel pressure and trans temp?... are they mechanical or electrical? i haven't dont this before on a cummins motor... just need to know what to order.
also if anybody can tell me where to tap into for either guages or both that would be a huge help!
Thanks!

I have the commander and soon to have autometer guages. The boost you can tap in the boost elbow or get the boost bolt from dieselmanor.com not sure on the fp yet I will be doing that next weekend!! The tranny temp can be done numerous ways. There is an extra port on the rear of the tranny that you can tap into or dieselmanor.com sells an inline tap..

I have ISSPRO, and they were ok, they had amplifiers that were a pain in the rear. The trans probe is an easy install, there is a dummy plug near the front passenger side of the tranny, unthread that and put the probe in. I ordered a lid from genos for my fuel pressure guage, there is a tap in the top of the lid.
I bought the ISSPRO kit from diesel manor. Boost, trany temp, and EGT. Easy install, looks awesome, the lighting on the guages matches the trucks factory lighting perfect. Also bought the tranny cooler line with the tap. (the only way to go IMHO). Bought the boost bolt as well, it doesn't get any easier than just removing one bolt and putting another in. I did get a faulty amplifier box from them, but they sent another out right away, just threw the faulty one in the trash. My 06 exhaust manifold was different than the one they picture in the instructions (which are great too) and they were great on the phone helping out. 2 thumbs up for ISSPRO's and dieselmanor.com.
I went with Diprocol Optix. I have four, Fuel Press, Boost, Pyro, and Rail Pressure. I will be posting an article shortly to cover install as it seems like there are bits an pieces of advice out there, but not a whole package. i will post pics of my install shortly.
