Question for Quad

Quad, I have one question about one of the functions of the Commander that I cannot find any info. on. How does the warm up function work and what does it do? Are there any online instructions for all the different Commander functions? Thanks

Doesnt it turn off the modules it controls until it gets to the temperature you set the Commander to? I have a Commander and XZT and I think that is what it is supposed to be doing.

Yes, the Commander will leave the module OFF until the engine reaches the set temp.

That sounds right to me but I could not find directions anywhere. I am also trying to figure out how to get the oil temp to work. I have trans temp in one of the windows but can't figure out how to get oil temp in one of the others. Everything else works great.

What temp does everyone else set there warmup to? I just set mine at 150* to see how that works tomorrow.

I have my warm-up set at 170* but I'm pretty conservative when it comes to things like that.

Thanks ptgarcia. Usually by the time I hit the highway in the morning my truck is at about 160* so I may bump it up to that tomorrow when I get to work. Any idea how to get oil temp on one of the 4 screens? I would like to have my 4 screens setup as EGT, oil temp, trans temp and fuel pressure.

I think you can only monitor either transmission temp or oil temp, but not both.

Isn't the oil temp / tranny temp only one sensor? It all depends where you installed the sensor, that is why only one place is on the screen. The warmup setting I use is 165 degrees F. One question I have is on the timing. I posted a thread a few days ago. I have used the warmup feature from the get go, and I hear the same timing rattle before the box is allowed to power level up ( below warmup temp (zero in the power level window)) as I do after the warmup set point. That is why I don't believe the timing is at stock setting when the box is at zero power level setting. Does anyone hear a difference?

You know maybe you are right about one or the other. Well towing a 5th wheel I would rather have trans temp like I have now than oil temp. I will play with the warmup setting over the next few days but will probably bump it up to 160* when I get to work tomorrow morning. Thanks for all the help.
