Just a question that I wanted to see some opinions on or if any one has done it. I have amsiol ATF in the trans and it's only got about 11000 miles on it. I had to replace a perssuer selinoid and while I was in there the trans filter. The fluid is not burnt and looks good ( maybe just a little silverish color to it) but look as good as when it came out of the bottle. I called amsoil and asked if it would be safe to reuse it and they said yes. They told me as long as it is not burnt or cooked and full of contaminates that it would be good to reuse. It's good for 50000 to 100000 miles. I wanted to know what people thought and if anyone had done it. It would be nice to reuse since it coast so much it buy it in the first place. Also it's a full synthetic so I would think it would still be good to use.

 

As long as the container you drained it into was clean,you should be good to go. The factory fill ATF+4 is synthetic.

 

In terms of it being "worn", you're fine. Like mentioned above, I would only re-use it if it was caught in a clean container. Not just an oil pan that has been drained, something really clean.
