Trans fluid atf+3 atf+4???

I dropped my pan and I'm getting ready to buy new fluid, does my 47rh use atf+3 or atf+4? Also I think +4 is synthetic would that mix ok with whats left in the vb and torque converter?

The RHs used +3, IIRC.

I'd use +4 in it, and it will mix just fine with the older stuff.

You might want to call a performance tranny shop, as the +4 is slippery stuff, and the trans might slip if it's near the end.....

+4 is a bit more $$ than +3,
I'd stay away from the former and use the latter, besides, it's what Dodge says should go in there.

A buddy of mine told me to use that, but I've never heard of anyone using it before in a chrysler. I looked and it said its only recommended for some ford, gm and imports so I went ahead with the +4 just to be on the safe side. Hows would the dexron 3 have mixed with the current leftover fluid? Also how well does it protect the RH? Just wondering because I might try using it next time to get a firmer shift.

Big advantage to Dexron is that Costco sells it for 69¢ a quart.
Works excellent and is recommended by most of the big name diesel tranny rebuilders.
