So I picked up my new to me 04' in my sig and I absolutely LOVE IT. I pulled the AFE filter off tonight and found it to be very very dirty. So I used the cleaning kit I bought (AFE's own) and let it dry. Now the filter itself when new is supposed to be a bright blue right? Mine even after cleaning looks greyish on the outside. Plus some of the pleats are bent up a bit. At the moment I'm going to have to re-oil it and run it but I'm wondering if it would be worth it for me to replace it with a new filter (non-oil type, dry flow?). Or should a good cleaning and oiling fix it up?

good cleaning should do it. It's the oil that gives it the blue colour...

 

yeah, just clean it up. youll be fine. Unless a nice new blue one will give that good feeling. if its worth it to you, get a new one.
