Quad Std box question

I just finished installing the Standard box(30,60,100)
When I turned the key on I got the correct led lights.
I started the truck and went through the different hp settings.
I didn't hear any difference in engine sound at all.
I took it for a ride (its raining so I cant really lay into it for fear of ending up sideways)
When I had it on the 100 PL3 and I had it to the "boards" it really it really "rattled loud" More pronounced dieseling sound(Like when I tried driving my Roadrunner on 87 octane)
I have never driven in a truck with any type of box so I don't have anything to compare mine too.

I have no engine codes, the box lights up normal and it drives great.
I guess I'm asking if its normal for the engine to sound the same at idle and 2nd if the extra "dieseling" sound is normal on 100HP?

Thanks guys!!

My friend has an 06 with the race and I cant tell if it is the timin or the injectors but it sounds pretty rough on the 100 and even worse on the 130 setting. No codes but man it dont sound healthy

I think that what you are hearing is the new Timing the Box uses. I have the XZT and it makes a noticable clatter at idle and while cruising!! There is no change in the fuel pressure until wide open throttle by what I have gathered from Quad.

That is the one thing that I didn't like about my 100hp quad box. Mine seemed to make allot more injector noise than when the box wasn't installed. Mine even made more noise when you had it on the stock setting. The only way I got it to quiet down was to take it off and install the edge juice w/ attitude.

????????????????? Dont really know??? I'm testing my XZT Right now to see if it actually will help me gain some MPG------ If not, I will be sending it back! I really do not like the noise, but I do like the power and how smooth the Truck is now.

Its definately injector noise. Anytime the injection pressure jumps up so rapidly you'll definately get it. It shouldnt hurt anything at all other than annoying you.

There have been some reports that adding more pressure will in time take out some injectors. I would think that adding pressure to the injectors could cause some problems down the road. Some of the manufactures of these pressure type box's say the pressure they are running at is a safe level. Like I said before. Time will tell.
