Plug and Play Sirius

Just curious to see if any of you have the Plug and Play Sirius radio in your trucks. I just had to buy a new one because I busted the screen on my old one and now I get this awful static in the background. The antenna is in the same spot as before, I even tried a different antenna and still the same problem. Anyone have any solutions? I do realize that the reception on mine is not going to be as good as the reception on one built into the radio, but I think it is strange that I never had this problem with my older Plug and Play unit.

I had one on mine before I sold it. I had mine plugged into a converter that plugs into the cd changer port in the back of the radio and then gives you rca input directly into the radio. IMHO this is the only way to go as the FM modulation sucks!!! If you are interested I do have the interface still and would be willing to part with it. Just pm me and we can talk price. FYI they run about $80.00 new.

ps. This also takes care of the static thing as you are going direct and not through fm stations.

if your using the FM modulator, tune it into a different FM station.

I have a FM modulator switch on mine. Plugs into the antenna coax on the passenger side kick panel. Works great. About $20 at Circuit City or Best Buy.

Exactly! I just installed one in my truck about a month ago. In my opinion this should be mandatory! BTW you will need to get an adapter to connect the FM modulator to the Chrysler radio.

Behind the passenger side kick panel is a coax connector for the antenna. Plug the FM modulator at the split. No need to get the coax adapter for the back of the radio.
