Helwig makes a heavy-duty bolt-on rear sway bar, and Firestone makes an excellent bolt-on rear 5K# airbag kit. Summit Racing has both for $225 and $250 respectively (mods - is it OK to quote a price from a catalog?)

I have factory overload leaf springs in my '98, but I perfer the ride, handling and adjustability of the airbags much more!

Putting the overloads on is going to be a waste (IMO), I too vote for airbags.

The sway bar? I know, I went from an 01 with camper package to this 06 without too.

Not to hi-jack a little here, but I havent seen any new 2500 with the overloads locally anymore. Ive only seen them on the 3500's. Did they do away with the camper package and factory overloads? Just curious.

To my knowledge, there is no camper package anymore. A lot of people ended up buying the 1 ton SRW ($900 more).

P.J.'s right - I tried to spec a camper package on my '05 (like I did on my '98), but there was no such thing any longer; then I tried to buy a single 3500, but couldn't find one optioned right. I chose to buy the best 2500 and make it into a killer SRW 1 ton.

And I know because I'm a guy who wanted a 3500 SRW and ended up with a DUALLY. Starting my search for an 06 truck in late July (06) was not a wise move. No regrets, but for what I do I could still do it with the training wheels.

Oh well, you never can tell what you'll get into next, bigger 5'er, whatever.
