piece together 4.5" lift??
piece together 4.5" lift??
hey guys, im lookin at pickin up a set of 37x13.5 17 claws and i'll need to upgrade my leveling kit/1.5" block to a 4.5" kit or something around there.. i understand i'll need trac bars, springs/spacers, and longer shocks.. is it possible to save a buck by gettin parts from different places and stuff like that? anything to stay away from?, anything anybody's got kickin around used? i'd like to go with a 4"block in the back, or springs would be great, but i really wanna avoid a sagging rear. i suppose with appropriate length u bolts i could ad my 1.5" blocks to anything i'd get from a manufacturer and be ok.. thoughts?
anybody? i basically don't wanna pay for a set of 2" blocks and u bolts, for a 4.5" kit, because i hate the sagging look. even if i could find something that does just the front, would allow me to deal with the back seperately, thanks
Look at the Rough Country kit. But if you want to run 37s I think you will have to go with thier 5 inch kit. Either way, pricing will be good. Great product. My buddy runs one.
Putting a kit together by yourself will cost you more in time and shipping than I think it would be worth IMHO!

i would think ud need control arms, pitman arm, and sway bar link pin drops too. im sure i know that tho not trying to insult ur intelligence. i agree with sdmark, ud be better off gettin a complete 5 or 6 inch lift. b/c i know ur gonna pay for the control arms. as far as rear sagging goes...u could just stack them i would think...but i think the rear blocks on a 5 or 6 inch lift should be tapered to correct pinion angle.
if you're looking to do it cheap, the 5" rough country kit is less than $800. has everything you need and you can get it w/ a 4" block for the back. i don't think it would be wise to "stack" lift blocks. jmo
