Thumbs down Per van Aaken, NO timing addition to the C3.2!

This is van Aaken's response to my question about the addition of timing to the VA C3.2 ...

Hi Richard,

Thank you for your enquiry.

Unfortunately, there will not be timing added to the existing board as
the hardware is not there to do it. I'm afraid that adding the timing
function was a rumour that was started on a forum and it is definitely
not true.

Regards

Alex Feher
Sales Manager
van Aaken Developments Ltd

I was told many times the hardware was in place. Never ceases to amaze me what these dealers will say to sell thier boxes.

I have one thing to say....DARN IT!

Looks like I will need to start turbo shopping as soon as budget allows.

Same here! The driveability of this box is too nice to let it go...

I want to add EZ pressure too...so I better start looking at a pusher pump along with the turbo. It is too much fun having a fast truck!

It would be nice if someone would come out with just a simple timing box for the mpg crowd. Then we could stack with just about anything.

Doug,
Have you seen this? You may want to note this in the Fueling Box Summary.

Van Aaken says "there will not be timing added to the existing board" which means no upgrades to existing h'ware. OK.
What about their new product developments - any word on if they are working on a new box that would have duration + timing?

just got wind of this and asked Danny @ precision diesel to trace down what happend. I know they are working on a timing/duration technology; I just don't know where they are in terms of progress.

Danny followed up with VA and here's the deal: apparently they learned very recently (3 days) that the existing hardware was insufficient. According to Danny it was always the hope and focus of the R&D effort to utilize the existing hardware, but basically at 4th and long they have to punt.

I still don't know what to do with Alex's comments basically stating via private email that there was never any hope of using the existing hardware.

I've asked Danny to work back through Alex and the rest of the VA team to see if they (VA/Alex) can post something directly on the forum, rather than having a private email cut and paste in to a public thread. I think at this point we need to hear from VA directly, so we can be as accurate as possible.

The isssue of a buyback or any other favorable upgrade path has not been discussed yet. reading in between the lines, I would say (my personal editorial opinion here, not from Danny) that VA has encountered a set-back and that we probably should not speculate as to when this (timing function) will be available.

Now there's an idea. or use it by itself. Makes you wonder if VA might do this -- it could perhaps connect to the ECM, so there would be no cam/crank connectors. now that would be cool.

a VA plain timing box would be kinda neat. cp3.3 now i'd like an all in one box that does pressure, duration & timing... still waiting for that..

Anyone try stacking the VA box with the Banks? That way you would have pressure and timing (Banks) with the added duration of the VA.
