Open air filter replacement
I have a MAC intake on my truck. I have two filters and I destroyed one of them (see other thread if you want to be bored with what happend The spare I had was the original and it has been cleaned and oiled numerous times to the point that I think its wore out. I like this intake, especially the mandrel bent stainless steel tourque tube, and would like to stay with it.
I checked the MAC site and I think I will call to order a couple filters. But I am getting tired of the oiling thing. Before I order I was wondering if anyone knows of a good conical pleated filter that is 5 and 3/4 inches inside diameter and 8 inches long. I wouldnt mind trying a dry filter on this intake if I could find one that has the same dimensions.
Anyone know what the dims are on any of the other brand 'dry' filters?
BTW I tried the BHAF a couple years ago and didnt have much luck with it. Its a good filter but how I had it set up wasnt the best for me

you could probably use this one from Amsoil it is a dry filter...
amsoil cone filter part#EAAU6080 MSRP $66.70
specs link https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/eaau.aspx
The mounting flange is a little big but not much...
5-3/4" is kinda a weird size
BTW the EAau6080 is the same one I used on my intake..

Apply two beads of RTV high temp silicone sealant a little wider apart than the clamp and 1/8" high on the end of the tube....this will ensure a tight seal with zero chance of leaks. ks
