Noise baffle?

Where's this noise baffle in the intake system? I put an aftermarket airbox and filter on my truck the other day, and did not notice anything that looked like a noise baffle. However, the intake hose from the airbox to the turbo is awfully corrugated-looking in one area, maybe that causes turbulence? In other words, is there any actual performance increase to be had by doing something other than the airbox/filter to the intake system? If so, what do I do?

That corrugated looking thing is the baffle, if you take a hack saw and cut about an 1/8th inch off the bottom the baffle section inside will slide out leaving a smooth hollow tube. Just don't touch the end that has the seam in it. After you cut that off just pop it back in place. It looks like it is all one piece, but it is not.

I'm not sure I understand. How can the corrugated part be removed like you describe when I see the corrugation on the outside of the tube, lasting for several inches? Also, if I'm not mistaken, the intake tube between the airbox and the turbo inlet is in 2 sections, joined by a hose clamp. Which section are you talking about cutting, and which end of that section?

I'm talking about the hard plastic section between the 2 rubber 90's.

Look inside the tube that goes betwen the airbox and the turbo and you will see a white plastic piece with fins on it - thats' the baffle. (at least on my 05). I put on the AFE tube and then put the stock one back on - I felt it was too loud. I still run the AFE airbox.

also look for what looks like 2 black waffles criss crossed in the straight 5 inch plastic pipe more baffles get em dun and out! also the inside of the baffle tube is ribbed 1/4 inch inside ridges that also deaden sound/ lessen airflow taking apart the 5 inch coffee can inlet tube is time consuming and a pita but worth it to hear the turbo sing a little more. dodge did not put this together to come apart easily.

I thought I saw a thread on using a 4.5" or 5" section of PVC pipe and just painting it black. I have not measured it, but is it 4.5 or 5 " in diameter? Seems cheaper and easier than ordering from a dealer, just go to Home Depot or Lowes.
