no exhaust smoke-w-pedal down

My truck has 3500 miles on it and an edge EZ box. Stupid question but I do not get any black smoke out of it if I hammer the pedal. It is not that I want the smoke but I am curious about it. My wife has a PS van and when I drive it I hammer it and black smoke is aplenty.

What year is her PS van? They've come a long ways in terms of emissions on these vehicles.

I only get a small amount of smoke when I mash the pedal. Sometimes I get none. It's normal. Your truck is just more efficient than others.....

By the way, I will help with your project 68 Dart GT Conv by taking it off your hands if it's a big block... I used to have a 67 GT Conv but it was a 6 cyl, and it smoked!!!

Actually my Dart is a 318-hardly a muscle car but it is in rough but complete and fairly rust free condition. I plan on a strong daily driver after I win a few shows-w-it. Too much hp can be a bit cumbersome on a daily basis in a driver. I hope about 300hp but I will have to see what block I end up using. I am in need of a standard bore 340 if U know of any for some stroker parts I have. A good friend of mine is doing a 68 convert-w-factory 383. Doesn't that mean it is a GTS? Anyway that will be stricktly show. Personally I like a small block car for handleing reasons. My 65 is a leaning tower of power equiped car (have you ever heard the rumor these were originally going to be diesels???) and it's 225 1bbl smokes too. It smokes black crap out the back and blue crap out the breather. It has zero ***** and I have a completely rebuilt 2bbl setup waiting to go on it-w-new head/exhaust & intake. I hope this helps the power cause the floor board under the gass pedal is getting a dent in it. I hate underpowered vehicles! BTW how does the 4X4 handle. My 2X4 handles incredibly well for such a large truck. I can take turns real quick (and then remember what was stored in the back-OOOOOPS).

As far as the box goes I have it on 60hp and if it aint working I need a shrink cause it hauls the mail in a big way. I can't beleive the power these trucks have. I still want more though.

A highschool buddy used to have a '68 (maybe '69?) Dart GTS. Red, 383/4 bbl, 4 on the floor, and drum brakes. It was a handful sometimes.

Yeah - I love the drum brakes. Even my 65 slant I put disks from a B body on. I put bad prakes even before inadequate power and those single cylinder baby drums were a liability at best. Now the new Ram is exceptional from a braking standpoint. I have not had a vehicle-w-rear disks and the pedal feel and stopping power is right how I want it. My 68 has the brake upgrade-w-disks and bigger drums so that is one item that should be left for rebuild only. I put an AFS magnaflow air box on the Ram today nd it seems good. Feels like maybe a little better responce and hope to get bett mileage. Next oil change will be synthetic and from there it should max out the potential from a mileage standpoint. I don't know about others but this 04 Ram is awesome. My goal is to have it paid for in a year and then I can enjoy it totally.

Mine's paid for.

I think that in 67 you could get a 383 Dart GT but by 68 the HP Darts were all GTS's. I could of had an original 68 Hardtop Dart GTS 383 4 speed car a few years ago but it didn't have a title and I didn't want the hassle.
Gee, that car would sure look nice in my garage now.

I've had several MOPARs in my short years

72 Satellite 4 dr w/ mags and rear spoiler (First car)
68 Satellite 440 w/ NOS ran 11.5s motor and 10.5s NOS
70 Challenger RT 440
67 Dart GT Conv slant 6
67 Dart GT hardtop 318
64 Plymouth Valiant Conv w/ 360
68 Super Bee 383 Never made it to the street
69 Coronet RT 440 " "
70 Super Bee 440 " "
65 Chrysler 300 Conv w/ AC Nicest car of all
64 Fury wagon which was gonna be a drag car (never happened)

Man I wasted a lot of money...

My first new car was a '68 Dodge Dart GTS 383 auto, yellow with a black vinal top. Ran 14.70's @ 95 but the 340 Swinger was a little faster.
