exhaust outlet pointing down after axle, diffuse smoke more?
#3
I cut my factory exhaust behind the axle, close to where the spring is. It still points down, but it's tucked up there real nice. When I blow smoke from a stop light in town, it shoots the smoke down on the the ground, under the car behind me. But when I'm rolling down the road, you can hardly see the smoke, from where I'm sitting anyway. I run around with my 4.11 Smarty on 5, so it's pretty smokey on the warm days, but no smokey film on my bumper or tailgate.
In a town where everybody has a 5 or 6 inch chrome tip, it's nice to have no exhaust pipe showing at all.

I took my 5" tailpipe piece off after axle an put tip back on turndown section. I like the look but still blacks out road maybe worse now than with tailpipe an would for sure soot a trailer.

I tried to let mine dump after axle but the drone was unbearable, i towed last week and my exhaust exits at rear tire the whole side of my truck is black. I towed with smarty revo sw3 timing 4 (fuel econ) lol rp default, it never stopped smoking unless i spooled it up good. i am looking for a turn down tip now

My tip stickes out about even with the mud flap and is turned down at a 45 degree to the back of the truck.I tow a white car trailer and have seen no sign of abnormal soot on it so far.

I used to have a straight tip that exited past the body. Still got soot on the white paint, but not ad bad as stock.
When I installed the torklift camper mounts I had to cut that tip off. I knew the soot would be back, so I went to the local RV store to buy a turn down tip. I welded it up and angled it about 30-45 degrees from vertical (straight down, towards the rear). So far, 1000mile trip and NO soot AT ALL on the body!
Why didn't I do this earlier? Oh, well.
