brake pedal drifted down
I got the old pedal drift this morning after idling for a few seconds waiting for a prking spot. I was backing in and the pedal slowly went down. I see these dodges don't have the GM hydro boost set up so am i to assum that the maste cylinder is going bad ?? thanx , DAVE

Re:brake pedal drifted down
Well, I have been told that the "drift" is normal with the diesel. Anytime that I hold my foot on the brake, it will go slowly to almost the floor. A mech told me that this was normal...something to do with the vaccuum boost and the ABS, I think.

Frightened me the first time, too.
george

Re:brake pedal drifted down
well I thought it was just me it happened to because I replaced my master cylinder to no avail...
If you wait afew seconds the vacuum builds up and the light shuts off.
I'm just wondering if there is a exhaust port on the vacuum pump that gets clogged up to reduce the rate at which the vacuum builds?
