New Toys; Twins, Dual Fueler, Cam, Springs and Studs oh My!

Finally got off my butt and with the awesome help of Chris Brahs (Cbrahs) and Andy Blomberg(?) we installed the twins, Opie bypass, ARP 625's, PPE dual fueler, F1 Cam and sportsman pro springs. Everything went together reasonable well. Turbos are a bit laggy, but when they light up WOW... Downloaded the TNT tune for the Smarty and have gone as far a level seven. That tune is a monster. No popping or other issues. These ball bearing turbos sound like an F-16 moving around the tarmac. When you shut it down you can hear the turbines continue to spin for quite awhile. I have some tuning and tweaking to do then off to the DYNO.

don't forget the ISSPRO Performax gauges and all that steel braided line and fuel can mod. It was a blast and I would do it again in a heart beat. Just wait til spring or fall to do it. IT WAS HOTTTTTTTTT!!! Thank goodness for the 10x10 shade tent and 20 gallons of gatoraide and a few cigars!

LoL... Hot it was. I had to wait until the hottest week of the year to torture my buddies. About five days in total. Now if I can get my wife to speak to me again all will be good!

Another big thanks to Chris and Andy. You guys rock!

Turbos are a bit laggy,
You're talking about the BB Garretts in your signature? I thought these turbos were supposed to be the cat's meow of spool-up, and would light faster than almost anything else on the planet!?!

What are you comparing spool to? Especially with the cam, I'd think your spool should be nearly instantaneous with the right programming?

Any chance of getting us a sound clip of the turbos and some more pics?

Great looking rig!

Terry's setup, aka Soulezoo, is a GT4094R over a highly modified GT45R, and I thought it spooled pretty dang quick...quicker than my 62/71/13SS over S480 setup that's for sure! I would imagine Jim's BB setup would be ULTRA fast! He is up at a pretty high elevation and I'm guessing he's gotta get some time to tune them and what not. I'm at 4,000 foot elevation as well, and mine is fairly laggy. With the Smarty TNT tune, back the timing down to 4 especially for daily driving, and it should help get the turbos spooled as quick as possible. I'd love to hear a sound clip of that F16 you have hiding under the hood!

Altitude is the biggest factor. I am at 5500ft. most of the time and right now I am at 7800ft. Not much air. I am comparing lag to the stock turbo. When I take the truck to Phoenix (1200ft.) there is a world of difference in performance. Can't wait to take this setup to a lower altitude. I worked with Nathan at MPI and this setup was his suggestion for this altitude.

I went to the Smarty TNT tune and on level seven this truck is scary fast.

As Jared suggested I have some tuning of the setup to accomplish and need to play with the Smarty settings. Will try and get a sound clip together. It is cool

where does the 4042r fit into the size scale? Seems pretty small, would think it would be a real quick spooler....hows egt's?
