New Mega Cab for me.
Just bought a new Dodge 3500 Magacab 4x4 Laramie this Summer. First diesel pickup I've ever owned. I still own my 2001 Ford supercrew w/ 6 inches of lift and 35's....the poor performance of this truck is what led me to the diesel. The truck only has 1300 miles on it now and I just installed the Superchips 3805. My question is this...in Performance mode, will the truck still be safe cruising at highway speeds without damaging anything? I don't treat this truck like a hotrod, but I like the extra power occasionaly. Will my EGT's be too high? I know guages are a great safety feature so if someone has any recommendations there, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance and great forum!!!!

Congrats on the truck!
Gauges are highly recommended anytime performance boxes are added. The types of gauges comes down to personal taste. You can do a search on these forums for info and pics of other member installations, check with the DTR advertisers and www.genosgarage.com has good selection to pick from.

Congratulations on the new truck. MikeyB suggested gauges from Geno's, and that is exactly where I got mine from. I have the ISSPRO boost, trans temp, and EGT on the pillar and they look great and match the factory lighting perfectly. Good luck with your new truck.

Never had mine off performance and nothing burnt down yet. I do idle around and make sure it gets some easy run time after I have been on it tho. If you can spring for gauges go for it, they look sweet running up the pillar and do help. They are next on my list, but the snows coming so I kinda got sidetracked on my RMK

WCJP what brand is that guage pod? Is it a full pillar replacement (looks to be) and it retains the factory grab handle? I like the looks of it and may run the 2 in 1 guage myself.

OR, you can run the Edge Attitude for your 2006 and it costs around $500-$600.
It will record and display the following:
TRANSMISSION TEMPERATURE (it reads it from the factory ECM)
BOOST
EGTs (they even give you the pyro)
COOLANT TEMPERATURE (factory ECM read)
Plus many more displays....
Also, they include the TURBO TIMER, that alone is worth $200.00....
With all those gauges purchased you would spend $600.00+ in just the gauges...
