New lift kit installed....now it rides great!

I had my truck lifted and the original lift was a 7" lift that was modified to be a 9" lift. I had quite a few issues that i have been dealing with the last couple years with the lift (the main thing was it rode poorly). I finally had enough and tore the enitre lift off and started over with the new pro-comp "long arm" lift.

I have put about 500 miles on it in the last 2 days and can say I am completely happy with everyhting and it now rides better than it did when it was stock. The only downside is the girlfriends **** wont bounce as much driving down the freeway

Here is what the truck looked like with the old lift. I do miss the height but its much easier to get in and out of now.

Here it is with the new kit.

The old front end was a mix of a 7" kit and 2" spacers. you can see the control arms and the extreme anlge they are it.

The highlight of this kit is the fact that the control arms are relocated and moved back for a much straighter angle.

the rear had blocks that looked like **** in my opinion and the fox shocks that no matter how many times I had them worked on they were never right for my truck

The new blocks look much better, as well as the new shocks were are valved for this particular application.

Looking good man. I am about to do the same thing, I am getting rid of my 6" short arm and going to a long arm. But I really want to go up to 8" so I can run some big tires.

Is the differance in a long arm just the relocation of the control arms?

Yep, makes them a ton flatter for a lot better ride. Huge price difference but o so worth it.

Just changing the angle of those arms helped it alot, I'm sure. Looks killer too!

Mocho,

You gonna get the TGC custom long arms or a short arm/long arm half setup like this? I'd never seen this one and it does look pretty good.

I am pretty sure Mocho will not be buying anything from TGC ever again. While they do have good prices, they are retards when it comes to customer service!

I want the full long arm, especially for 8" lift, the pro comp and BDS like these are only good for 6". I am trying to give TGC another chance but ya they are IDIOTS. I phoned them last thursday and told them I want a price for their 8" kit to my door, this thursday I phoned and and got the price, a whole basic 5% off and still no shipping quote. Suppose to phone me back yesterday with it, but never happened (because i'm in Canada and shipping is insane). I even told them I would buy tires and rims from them if the price is good enough, but they don't seem to care that it is a potential $4,500 sale.

Funny thing though, I added up all the components in their 8" long arm, total about $1650! They are jacking up the price THAT much for the kit. I couldn't believe it.

I am probably buying thuren crossover steering and track bar, not sure about anything else. I don't think I can afford his coils, long arms, etc. I just told him that I will only buy it if he will warranty the heim's if they go quick. I got about $2,500 budget for my lift absolute max and i'm not a huge fan of the Rize using stock control arms.

I'd much rather buy from someone else for coils, long arms, etc but i'm still searching. I'm still trying to research about my front driveshaft though, I was thinking of just getting it custom made with high angle u-joints and lengthed but I can't find anyone else who has done this instead of clocking the t-case.

I still need to decide which tires to, can't decide if I want Baja claws or Kuhmo MT's, but I know I am going with 38x15.50.

Do those pro comp advertisements on the front arm brackets unbolt? I'd definately ditch those, otherwise it's a good looking setup.

I'm working on building a set of long arms to use on my truck that are upper 22" and lowers 36" I recently made some for a customer that were adjustable but they were 20"-24" uppers and 34"-38" lowers so I just got the middle measurement.
Riverbound, is that the approx measurement of the arms in your kit?

I am still running 37" tires with my 6" kit. My old 8.5 kit would have fit 39"s with some trimming in the front.

It cut and dumps straight down. right before where it would turn to exit out the side.
