New APPS - WOW!

The new apps fixed the dead/irratic/choppy throttle and no more codes. I don't remember the throttle ever being so smooth. I mentioned earlier that once I started reading about wacky apps symptoms, I thought mine had been showing signs of failing for a long time. It's been hard to keep the driveline from slapping in the lower gears (mostly 2nd to third shifts)for about a year and now the bouncing against the driveline, at creeping speeds, is just what I expect for a manual. New u joints and a slip yoke were coming up on my list but not anymore. What a cheap and easy fix for an old, aggravating problem! I read a lot about driveline slap and how new u joints don't fix it. I want to make this knownst to the readers, especially for the manual guys. Craig

Where did you get your APPS from? Thinking I might need one too. Thanks.

Mark at TST products. It's the Williams HD pot with an adaptor plug. Craig

I wonder if it's a Timbo APPS. He uses the Williams potentiometer.

Same as TSTs. From what I've read, the autos have a PCM, another puter, and they can have problems with corroded terminals. I actually called TST for something else and we got to talking about the APPS and Mark let me try it and if it didn't work he would have taken it back. Craig

(Acceleration Pedal Postition Sensor). Courtesy of DTR Wiki. I was wondering the same thing until I looked it up ive always know these as TPS's Throttle position sensor. Maybe a dodge thing.

The TPS is the fly-by-wire of the newer trucks and the APPS is the mechanically linked system.

I just talked to Mark again @ TST. The reason he was going to let me return it if it didn't work is because he sent me the pt.# for the early 24v and it crossed to the 03 APPS pt# but he wasn't absolutely positive it was the same thing. It worked perfectly so... the 03 APPS is the same part as the early 24v TPS or whatever they called it. Craig
