Need some input on RPM over redline...
I was pulling a 8-11% grade friday, i pulled the truck down to second gear manually, and the rpm's went past redline to about 3500rpm for about 3-5 seconds. The truck runs fines, i was just wondering if this would do any damage? Thanks..Justin
The auto tranny should have an electronic interlock on downshifting at too high RPM. You should be able to downshift to first and the tranny won't shift until the engine can handle the RPMs.
