im new to the diesel truck game, and have a bone stock 2004.5 5.9, im looking to drag, pull sled, and daily drive. im thinking 600hp or more. what can i do to start this project?

 

Read, read, read. Save up 15k, read some more and start buying and installing parts. Do it right the 1st time so you don't spend money redoing what you broke trying to get there to still keep it on the road.

 

Check out as many different products as you can before you buy, and try to find someone who has done this stuff before to help you. There are a million little things that come up when you start modding a truck and it really helps to be aware of them ahead of time.
Your transmission (im assuming its an auto) is one of the first things you'll want to address. It's also good to have a clear goal for the truck in mind, which it sounds like you do. Makes it a lot easier to decide what you do or don't need.
And like he said, read this forum and ask questions until you're sick of it.
