depends on what you are looking to eventually get out of your truck...

How much HP, sledpull, drag race... It is all dependant upon the outcome you wish to achieve.

I like the looks, I tow 9000lb twice a month and would prefer longevity out of my truck. Dragrace when needed but dont do any of the sports on a regular basis.

I believe 4" will carry you into the 500 hp range with no problem on EGT's.

if your towing 9000 then you will either have to detune from 500hp, or really keep your eye on that EGT gauge.

Some people put on 5" because they can, but in my opinion you do not get much more from it. Now if your going stacks, then I would go 4" to the Y-pipe, then 5" from the bed and up. SOme like the 6" stacks, but to each his own.

I'd go 4 inch MBRP, because you already have 4 inch pipes from the turbo all the way back, and 5 inches wont gain anything for your needs, and is just unnecessary. I would remove cat and muffler, or at least the cat and have a high flow muffler. Just my opinion on you situation. Either choice will be better than what you have.

oops missed the 05' year model. Yeah, your good for a while on exhaust, just add a good sounding muffler in there and let her rip. No worries.

but it is not needed. If he wants to then that is fine, but it is not a have to have mod at this point, as he is looking for reliabilty, and I think he is making sure what he has is plenty.

HAHA, see, if you would have got a wife off the short bus (or from alabama), she would have said okay to everything you tell her you need.

my wife isnt from alabama, guess that leaves the short bus. she ok's everything so far. I think I am going to go 4" mbrp, 5" just seems obscene since it will have 6" tips.

Or like my wife, tell her your fixing something that broke. So far I hear what a piece of crap my truck is once a week, but it keeps the Bomb funds wide open

If you ditch the CAT you may be in violation of EPA regulations which may or may not be inforced. If you are going over 500hp and are going to sledpull or drag race get the 5". ks

thanks for the replies. I went ahead and ordered the 4" MBRP duals. hopefully I will get to install them this weekend. Got the whole set up with 5" tips for $541 on ebay. no tax and free shipping. gotta love it. wish my local shop could beat or meet the price, I hate to take business from them but it is hard to cough up the extra $300 for the same thing.
