i agree, just ease into the throttle and once you have a few psi of boost then you can hammer down. otherwise you're drowning the fire out with so much fuel and no air and actually get less power.
if you want to do a burnout, just power brake it to 5 psi, and simultaneously let off the brake and mash the peddle (in 2wd). It should light them tires up with no problem.
btw, not to derail the thread, but i wonder if there's a way to get more air in there right off idle? something like a small supercharger, or even a small shot of NOS (or O2 from a welding cylinder?) that gets shut off once the turbo is lit?

Never just mash the pedal...that is what stock fueling and stock turbos are for!
I cant lay into the throttle more than 1/4 till I hit 10 psi of boost...then hold on.
A downloader is the best way to get power down low...coupled with a MP-8 or a Quad. Make sure you are not throwing so much fuel that you drown the turbo.
When you say slow to light...are you smoking like mad till its lights or...no smoke?

I dont even smoke on level 3 of the race box. I try not to mash it. I know how to power brake it, but I want the pull me into the seat low end.

When going to bigger turbos, you need the stock stall. To low of a stall kills the spool up. Too loose also makes it not driveable. We mainly run a stock stall in Dave's converters.

Wow with my stock turbo and 4.4 along with mp-8 I could hardle get it to smoke unless I lagged it really hard??? Now with the twins I can barely bet any smoke unless I hammer down.. I also only run the mp-8 on 40% too...

no low end boost issues w/ my setup....
i was lazy lugging it over the pass last weekend, 6% grade, 5400+ feet 1200rpm in 6th making 25 psi on stock turbo... i hate getting stuck behind people trying to tow travel trailors w/ an explorer...
