When I cracked the cylinder wall easy way to tell was water was leaking out the exhaust. Maybe you didn't got a tear in the gasket and didn't relize it? Are you positive it's white smoke and not like a white mist? Another way is when it's smoking like that put your hand next to the exhaust and see if it's real watery? If it is a head gasket I wouldn't let it run to long you might do some real bad damage if it get's vapor locked. Maybe something real easy but from the way it sounds you might have to pull it back apart.

Do you have a bunch of air bubbles in your radiator/surge tank? Has the coolant level dropped a lot? Did you let it run long enough to get the air out of the fuel system after changing the injectors? You should not have blown out the gasket just from changing the bolts to studs. Was this some kind of pre-existing condition or maybe it didnt run quite right? Sorry for all the questions but it helps to pinpoint the problem.

Did you even pull the head or not? If you didn't pull the head really doubtful that you blew a headgasket. There was one time that my fuel filter was clooged and when I got on it real loud popping like a shotgun blast and a short puff of white smoke? Will it sit and idle? Is it a constant flow of white smoke with alot of popping?

Sounds like a injector/fuel delivery issue and or maybe a valve not adjusted correctly, pushrod not seated in a lifter etc.I think other then the head studs you need to go back over the injector install.

I would recheck the valve lash.Did you keep all the rockers in order so that they went back where they came off?

Is that what it was? Valve floating? That was the first thought that went through my head...
