Blown head gasket...Help!

Well we just finished installing II twins, flux 3s, arson Cp3, valve springs, pushrods, arp studs, cam shaft, intake, and coolant bypass. Once we got done chasing boost leaks I went for my first drive making higher boost numbers. The first pull pop went the head gasket. I thought I windowed th block becuase there was coolant and oil sprayed everywhere! Once we tore the motor down and got the gasket out it failed right in the front which would exlain the oil everywhere it was hitting the fan. It seems there was more than one place the gasket was failing once we looked at it. So I have a few questions. Im going to bring the head to a machine shop to be checked. The place.

1-The shop I got the head gasket from gave me a head gasket from a 99 said it would be the same as my truck. (2005) Is this the case?

2.Can someone find me a part number for the right gasket so I can be absolutely sure Im putting the right one in?

3. If anyone is experienced with installing HGs please give me some tricks and things that I have to make sure I do to do it right. I followed ARPs directions regarding torque numbers and pattern.

I have to make sure I get it right I really dont want to pull this head again. Im already nervous about putting my foot into it as it is!

I doubt a 99 and 2005 would have the head gasket, call you local cummins dealer and get the part number for each.

Not sure what boost numbers I'll see as I blew the HG before I maxed out. I had the wrong gasket. Now have the correct one. Any tips for installation would be great.

take the time to do a full re-tourque after warming up the engine.
Monitor IMAT to make sure you have enough CAC....
make sure the machine shop puts the right finish on the head surface. Are you going to fire ring it?

Use the stock Mutilayer gasket for the CR trucks 03' to 07'. I see you have ARP's, are they 625's? You should have no issues keeping it together with that setup. Do some reading on CompD. Lot's of good info.

Do several retorque's to ensure you are good before you give it to much trouble.

If you are actually making more than 500 dyno horsepower you will need to fire ring it to hold the head gasket once pressure really builds.

Not so, there are many high hp trucks using the standard arp studs. If it has blown make sure to have the head decked and check the surface of the block, this is key. Always let the truck warm up to full operating temp and ensure the thermostat has opened, so everything is warm before you ever even begin to mash it. Then let her eat, 60-75 or so on arps worked for me. Much more than that and I would look at 625s, but I am still not sold on fire rings for daily driver applications. JMO.
