I was at a dyno day recently and all I got was compliments and questions about my Aeroturbine.

& you haven't heard it unless you listen to it as it drives by, get a trsuted friend to drive by ya and see how different it sounds from that perspective. It will blow your mind.

I'll second that.

There's even a noticeable difference between the 305/555 trucks vs. the 325/600 trucks.

I had my truck straight-piped a few days after Christmas......took all I could stand and went with Magnaflow's #15989 system via a 325/600 elbow last Saturday. After a week, I'm glad to have my sanity back. The straight-piped life sure wasn't for me, personally.

Id give my left n@t for my 04.5 to sound like the 12 valve I had with a straight 4", Buddys 03 straight 3.5"-4" sounds better then mine.

I Had the cat gutted with no muffler on mine and it sounded not bad, but had a incredible drone towing, around 1400 and 2100 rpm. Not sure if it was from the hollow cat or the lack of a muffler.

But now have the 30" MBRP where the cat was, backwards, louver openings to the front, and I dont mind it. No drone.

IMHO Any V8 diesel sounds like hell unless its a screamin Jimmy

You guys are so bias its funny.....but thats ok....i have owned a 7.3 a 6.0 and now a 5.9. i will admit the 7.3 straight piped sounded like crap. but my 6.0 sounded awsome and definetly way better than anything else ive heard. sorry to angry the dodge gods.....I will leave you all to praise how much better they are than ford or chevy!!! oh and thats funny how you deascribed the v8's to sound because thats how I would have described the I6's but they actually sound alot more like a fart.......

Hands down the 12V & 24V cummins sound the best in my opinion. The new 03-06 cummins sound like crap........I haven't heard one to this day that I have even remotely liked. Ever since they changed the motor in 03 I have hated the way they sound. LOVE the looks just hate the exhaust!!!!

Now as far as the V8 diesels, I have to say that I like them. My 03 7.3L sounded sweet as did my 03 6.0L..........that turbo was so freakin loud I miss it.

My girlfriends brother has a duramax and his truck sounds incredibly good. But by far my favorite out of any diesel exhaust would be the 12V and the 24V cummins.

Its not a matter of being Biased in this case; its a matter of opinion. When you hear a straight piped CTD coming down the road; you are looking for a Darned peterbuilt. When you hear a straight piped PSD/D-Max you are looking for a gasser. Thats all there is to it. Id much rather hear a CTD at 1800rpm under a load then a PSD/D-Max. Thats my opinion, and im sticking to it.

If I read the ad correctly in the newspaper ford still sells 6.0's I'm sure you can find another but remember "SIX IN A ROW MAKES IT GO"

I also agree on the I-6 sounding better! There nothin better then rolling into the throttle at low RPM,tranny in lock up(if you have auto trans) and hearing that cummins belch out pure power

A big tip makes a real difference in sound. I straight piped mine and hated it.(raspy) Put on a 4'' glasspack sounded good but to quiet. Went back to straight pipe with a 5" ss tip. I moved The tip around untill I liked the sound then welded it up. Has alot more bass To it.
Another operator at work has a 2003 7.3. He put a 5" system on it. Turbo is all you hear. Not in a good way either. Kinda like a loud asthmatic weezing sound.

I HATED my MBRP when I first installed it....Now its great!! A friend of mine drives a stock D-Max, and cant get over how my truck sounds...He's decided he doesnt drive a diesel truck...His truck just happens to burn diesel fuel.....Even compared to our '05 Ram at work, mine is LOUD....It sounds best in Tow/Haul mode....The sound you get with the added engine braking in Tow mode is cool...I bet it would sound killer with a 6 speed.....I had several people comment on it....But then again its from people who dont know anything about diesels...I think it sounds awesome...You guys might think it sounds like crap

on my 04.5 I straight piped it with cat in place and liked the sound. However the drone sound while pulling my 5th wheel got to be annoying after about and hour. So I bought a Flo Pro and it is a little quiet for my taste but it keeps the droning down. I would like to know of an exhaust combo that was the best of both worlds. Loud with no droning.

I'm gonna have to jump in on this when i heard all inline 6 trucks sound like a$$ UNTRUE i have an 03 cummins HO straight piped with dual 5" stacks and this thing sounds like a peterbuilt like a real diesel should. The truck gets nothing but compliments on its sound, honestly i have heard fords that have sounded like complete a$$ and I have heard some that sound ok but most people feel that these cummins sound mean.
