I'm sure this topic has been covered on various levels but I was wondering, for the people who have upgraded their muffler on an 03 Ram, which is the best. SOund isn't much of an issue but I'm not sure if I like the straigt pipe sound. I am looking at the Donaldson and aeroturbine but I have yet to find a local who has either of these installed, they all seem to like the jet sound.

 

Where are you at??

I have an Aeroturbine, JohnCa58 has a Donaldson.

I seen yesterday that aeroturbine has a 5". You are the guy I need to talk to. Mine has the flo pro right now and its to loud. How does yours sound and is there any drone?

I am running a 5 inch aeroturbine off the down pipe. (about 5 diameters (20 inches) of straight pipe before for nice laminar flow). Then about 6 diameter of straight pipe into a 20 inch megaflow muffler. Great preformance, real low EGTs and no drone! Real nice sound!

 

I live just below Bear Valley. Out of the Aeroturbine and Donaldson, which would you think has the cleanest sound with the least amount of drone.

 

I'd have to say my Aeroturbine is quieter than his Donaldson but I still have my Cat!

Yes in murphys to be exact. Is there really any gain from deleting the cat besides noise. Because if it didn't matter I was just going to purchase the aeroturbine and leave the cat so that I don't have to wear ear plugs on long drives. Which model did you purchase?

 

I wonder what it would do if I put my cat back on. All I want is to get ride of drone and a little less noise. Last night I rode in the back seat to listen to the sound and it wasnt to bad. It seems to be worse in the drivers seat.
