MPG and POWER question?

I have 35x13.50x20 Procomp Extreme a/t on my truck now and i was wondering how much difference it would make if i went to 37" tires next time i need tires? And what kind of mpg will i be looking at? Better or worse?

I would think it would be worse because most tires the bigger it is the heavier it is. I had a mickey thompson atz 35/13.50/20 for a short time on my truck and removed them because of the way it drove. I know those tires weighed 80lbs each so im sure those didnt help the fuel mileage any. im not sure if this helps but its something to look at. most tire websites state the weight of the tires and you can compare what you have now and the tires you are looking at. if they are close in comparison your mileage may not change much

Honestly on my 05 I went from 33's to 37's and didn't loose any... But I was just running a quad zxt with the 33's and the 37's I was running crazy larry... So the power gain was significant... The added bonus was cruising rpm's!!!!

Im only gettin around 12 to 14 now so i really don't want things to go downhill at all it already cost enough to fill the thing up! it would be better if it was still stock when i was gettin around 18

I never did find a way to get great mileage from my '06. Im averaging about 4mpg better in my '04 now using the same BD tuner on the same performance setting. The newer trucks just dont MPG as well..

It sucks because i was getting around 18 before i lifted my truck and put the tires on it! My buddy has a 01 and he only gets 12 stock not lift or tires and its only 2wd!

You will loose some power and mpg. Power difference may not be very noticable going from 35s to 37s, but bigger, heavier and more rolling resistance takes more power to get going. MPG will suffer in city type driving, but may be close to the same on the highway. Just my experience.

Man that would depend on the lift kit installed, my guess is that it would be difficult. I am sure the right shop could do some custom configuration with some of the kit, but might be easier to remove and go back to stock height.

I removed my leveling kit and went back to stock height to run 33s. Mileage and handling is definitely better on 33s than 35s for me.

Yea i wish i would have started out with just a leveling kit because the mpg went down hill after the lift! Especially towing!

I just hate to see the green be wasted by taking the lift back off!
