Welll another day of driving around, (went 130 miles yesterday) I guess it seems a little more peppy on the bottom end, MPG isn't any better according to the over head. I'll leave it for a week or so and see if there is any other differences.

At 79mph you won't see a difference in mpg. The mod seems to improve your mileage up to 2000 rpm. At 67 mph I averaged 20.85 mpg on a 400 mile trip. The biggest improvement you will see is your in town mileage, mine went up about 1.5-1.8 mpg.
Hope this helps

Well,, after having my wheel modded for 3 months now, I'm finally on a really long road trip to test it. Logged over 3000 miles so far (Thunder Bay to Key West, only back as far as Orlando so far...) And I am amazed at the differences on this trip.

I hand calcd several tanks, and the overhead was within 0.1 - 0.2mpg, so I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.. My results after doing the same trip last year at 13mpg are great!! Now I'm getting 18.5 - 19.0 at 75mph on interstates, and 21.0 - 22.5 at 45-55mph in the Keys.

Now, I don't think it's just the timing, as I'm using PowerService and Acetone for additives also. This I didn't do last year either. Whatever it takes, because fuel in Key West is stuck at $2.89!!

I don't know how it acts in the cold yet, as I left before that happened. I'll be back in the north right after the holidays and I guess I'l find out then.

anybody with a 610CTD done the mod yet....I am now very interested but not sure if I want to risk messing up my truck with a hand file or just buy the ROKK fix...LOL. I wrench my own motorcycle for most stuff but then she is paid for and not 9 days old.

Lots of guys.

I think the mod helps the 610's more than the 555's due to the retarded (literally) timing used on the 610's for emissions.

I just read an article on the Acetone. I was wondering if it had any merit.

One thing, How can you really adjust the timing with a box? Since the signal is at a set time, you can't just tell the injectors to fire before you get the signal to modify it. Only thing you could do is retard it from that point. IE: delay the signal to the ECM once it's triggered.

You could run it off the next tooth to incorporate the advance, but theat may run you into sync issues with the ECM. Since there are gaps in the rings.

Hence why someone hasn't gotten an easy made, cheap timing box.

Am I missing something here?

Well, the box knows the RPM and knows the time between injections at that engine speed, so it would be easy to "guess" when X degrees of advance would be... just thinking out loud..

Did mine over weekend with addition of FASS pump. It has more down low but over 2k feels like it may be missing alittle? More miles will tell.

I did the wheel mod the other day, trying to gain back some of the milage I lost due to ULSD. It runs great and seems to have more power when it spools up but it seems to of lost a litte down low. It used to bark the tires if I got on it hard from a stop, now it seems to have more lag and at about the 50 foot mark it comes alive. any one else have this expriance with this mod?

Sounds backwards. Is there any chance you moved the wheel in the wrong direction? It is quite a while since I did mine, and not near as long since I did a friends (but longer than my memory). Maybe someone else can tell you the direction off the top of their head.
