Kerry, mind if I ask what is better about the autometers vs that isspros?

I need to add another guage or two and if the autos are that much better I will go ahead with them.

I'd be interested in hearing why myself. IMO, Isspro gauges are the closes you can get to the factory dials. I haven't had one problem with my Isspro's but have had trouble with the Dipricols.... and their illumination is pretty fake looking. Not sure about the older trucks but, I believe 05's and up all have the same color dials.

Intake...Any plain jane torque tube with a good cone filter for diesels will be great ..... I use a 4 inch hole in my stock air box and it drops temps and improves air flow drastically. The K and N in my 04 works great and the intake pipe is cleannnn.
I've seen too many stories about K&N filter media being sucked right out of the filter to think of using that brand in a diesel.

For exhaust just replace the muffler.....there is nothing worse than spending 500 on an exhaust and to look under the truck to see it all rusty ....and its stainless steel....I have a wicked short 4" muffler that cost me 70 that will flow better than most on the market.
A SS exhaust is the way to go but, you have to get the correct SS for it not to rust. T-409 SS has a lot of iron in it and will rust. A T-304 exhaust will not rust... period. I agree though that if you're looking to save a little, just a muffler delete pipe and removing the cat will do wonders.

The intake horn.....unless you are running way over stock boost ....this is a huge waste.
I wouldn't stay it's a huge waste but, money can surely be spent on other things to gain hp.

I'm not jamming on your statements Kerry... just added my opinion to them :-)

Everything on our trucks is good for at least 500hp as it sits. If you're not looking to spend a lot of mods.... opening up the intake for more air and opening up the exhaust will make a big difference. The problem is, it's hard to just stay on level #3 with the smarty. Because of that... a bigger turbo will help keep the EGT's down a bit.

I want to go with a cat delete and possibly another muffler, stock right now. How much will you gain by removing the cat converter alone??

First, start a new thread in the appropriate section with your own exhaust questions.

Your signature can be set up in the "User CP" tab up top there on the left.

you'll drop your EGT by close to 100F by removing the cat..... your truck will appreciate it :-)

tritont, thank you for this. A little clarification for me though, Please.
Do you mean I can go up to about 500HP with all the equipment presently on the truck, without changing anything? I'll still add guages to monitor stuff, of course. Which turbo would you get?

After reading through this wealth of knowledge we have here this is the revised plan:

Intake:
Ok, I'll do the stock intake torque tube modification, (Baffle removal) Install a True Flow filter element in the stock box, and cut a 4" hole in it. Someone recommended some 1/2" screen over the hole, should I do that?

Guages:
The resemblance to factory is why I was wanting to go with Isspro. Up until now, I haven't heard anything bad about them. I still plan on them, Should I worry?

Intake Horn:
I'll delete the CFM for now and go with kuhkuhkyle's suggestion of using a Boost Bolt.

Exhaust:
I live in Az, so rust isn't much of a problem. I'll could take Morse's advice on the exhaust and go with the Walker 4'' straight through (model 21471), or abc4yew's advice and go with the 4" short nelson muffler. More research is in order.

Tranny:
I'll go with rustyshakelford's advice on putting the tranny probe in the hot line.

Programmer:
Smarty

Long term:

5" cat back MBRP, Torque converter and Valve body, New Turbo... abc4yew mentioned the 62/14. Need more info on that...

Please continue to feel free to chime in and let me know what you think.
