metal intake tube

I am looking for a metal air intake tube (new or used) that will fit on a 2006. I want one to make own dry filter intake system. Something like the tubes on the AEM intakes but I don't want to have to spend 400 dollars. Maybe someone out there has or knows where I can get one.

Do a search for the "whistler". he has links to the sites to build your own and specs on how to install. I think the cost was around $100. I built my own but it's towards the rear of the engine compartment vs. the 3rd gens.

I went to a local metal shop and bought schedule 40 aluminum tubing. They will cut you whatever length you want. It only cost me $20 for mine.

Wouldnt the metal get warmer than a plastic tube?
I thought the idea was to get cool air into the turbo.
Maybe Im wrong.

Any heat produced by the metal tube would be very minimal. Plus, it wouldn't make it to your engine anyway because it would be lost in the intercooler.

X2 I dont think it is enough to worry......I can grab mine with my hand and it's still not hot even after a good romping.

My main reason for wanting a metal intake is for whistle and looks. Maybe it doesnt matter if its rubber or metal. Anybody have experiences with using both?

I've got one that I just replaced with the S & B. It probably would cost more to ship than its worth, but if you want it, let me know.
