I believe you have 4 inches of suspension travel up front. So you'd be at 1 inch of travel .

3 inch shorter tires would net you 1.5 inches drop. Stock tires are 31.4 inches.

Agreed, if you read the initial post I was simply referencing tire size from where the height is currently at.

Currently I have 315's which are 35" tall. If I go to a 29" tire, according to my super-duper-complex math, it would put me 3" shorter.

If I am able to lower the front 6" and level the rear by dropping 8" (combining suspension and tire from current height), the highest point would be about 7" lower than my current 7'-0" height. Again using my complex math, I may be around 6'-5" to 6'-6" which is real close to passing (still need 2 more inches). If there is still 1" above the bump stop, it may work if I am able to bottom-out the suspension (with 4" of drop).

Who makes lowering spindles for the front of a 4x4?

They're solid axle so they don't really use spindles like your thinking about probably.

I'd just trade it off for a 2wd cummins... throw some 20's on it and drop the rear 2 and call it a day.
