lift the back seat for stereo

I need to lift the back seat of the truck about an inch to add some amps. I'm worried that there isn't enought room for proper cooling from the top of the heat sinks to the bottom of the seat. I've also considered fans, but I don't want the fan noise.

Is it as simple as adding a spacer blocks and getting four longer bolts? When I lift the seat bottom how does the seat back slide up and down with the seat?

Thanks.

That's how I lifted mine. I took 2 pieces of 2" angle iron and welded them together. Drilled a couple of holes and screwed it down. I also had to make longer brakcets on the back of the seat. In the pic you can just barely see the edge of the angle iron. My seats lifted 4".

Jacking the bottom is not big deal but the backs of the seats have a hook that slides over a small bar. (see my pics under sound deadening) I don't remember how long the hook is but as soon as you go to far the back of the seat has nothing to hook in too.

I have two jl audio 12"s from my last truck. Has anyone put them in under the back seat. Although I like the install in the post above i aim for stock appearence. Id like to face them up under the seat. Any thoughts?

Wow, 4 inches. I'm only going for 1 inch lift. So I guess it's doable.

As for the two JL 12 inchers, the magnet and basket may not fit into the holes on either side of the cab. The other thing about JL's would be the cubic size needed for the sub. My last JL sub wanted 1.5 cubic feet.

"Devious", what speaker box do you have. Is it the one that goes in the under seat storage in the back?? If so, is it in the pass. side, or driver side? I was thinking of getting the drivers side box, Im not looking for brain ratteling bass, just something that will give a nice thump when needed. I thought maybe the drivers side well was a little to small. Just wondering what you might have, Thanks.... Dog
