Lets see some flat bed dully's
We're thinking of getting another dodge 3500, Right now we have a 05 black four door dully 4x4, We slapped some chrome on it, and wow, looks great!! So our next one is going to be about the same but, tinking of a Allumium flat bed instead, I haven't seen any 3rd gneration like this, Can you still make them look sharp with a flat bed?? Anyone have one, If so, i'd like to see some pic's! Thanks Chris
look in my gallery, i just posted some pics of my flatbed buildup on my '06, we should be done with it this week, trying to make it real smooth...,ill keep updating, and there's some pics of my '03 SRW with a flatbed on it also.

i wanted to build one out of aluminum, but figured it might be very expensive, but we're trying to make my steel one as light as we can, with a strong subframe and hitch, and a lightweight platform made from formed thin cross channels, and it was all CNC cut, so no there should be no extra steel anywhere, and i would hate to try to powdercoat a whole aluminum bed black to make it match my truck, in the end i think my materials cost might be around $1500 or so, i cant imagine what the aluminum bed cost??..but that silver truck does look great though....
It would cost about a thousand bucks more for alluminum. Any where from $2000 to 3500 or more depending on the quality of the bed and any toolboxes and other goodies like a gooseneck hitch and leds. Check around, we did and my dad was about an inch away from buying one for his PowerJoke and decided he would just stick with the steel one because ever since I got mine he seems to like using the Cummins instead unless the load is gonna be light or if we need both trucks to haul equipment to a fair or something. I am gonna stick with my regular bed unless something major happens to it or if I come across someone who is gonna donate to my truck fund!
Budsowner, Now thats what i'm talking about, That looks Sweet!! So, did it start out as a 2500, Then you turned it into a dully?? I take it there's not much differnt in a 2500 and a 3500??

You basically did the same thing as us. We have a 96 F 250 3/4 Ton that we converted to a dually by using arrowcraft dually conversion adapters. If you look behind the wheels on the third generation duallies, there is a spacer behind it and that is basically all there is to it. The only thing was that the springs on the Ford were basically the same as a one ton. My dad had 4800 pounds inside the bed and still rode level just by pumpin up the tires. Mine is a little too purdy to do what we have done with that junker though.
