Flat Bed w/ Short Bed
Anybody put on a flat bed on a short bed truck? I'd like to see some pics if you have. How does it look? How long of a flat bed can you get on a short bed chassis - 7' probably, but is 8' possible, or will there be too much bed overhung beyond rear axle.

there was a picture of one in the 3rd gen trucks for sale in the classifieds on this site. I thought that it looked pretty sweet. I have seen alot of 2nd gen short wheelbase trucks with flatbeds that i liked.

I have literally thousands of cummins trucks and notta one SWB flatbed. There may be some photoshop masters on this site that could give you a SWB flatbed in any configuration you could imagine. Good luck

I don't know any details, but I remember this truck (Budsowner) was up for Truck of the Month a few months back. I believe he took his Short Bed 2500 and turned it into a Dually Flat Bed. Here a couple of pics. Hope that helps.

There's a couple of pics of my truck in my gallery, overall its 6'6" long and 80" wide, but looks really dumb without the side boxes up on the deck, and didnt look good with the stock wheels and tires, i swapped them out quick!, i wish i could have made it more rounded like the truck, but it was built by a local shop and modified by myself 3 years ago, i angled the skirts and built the side boxes angled, but have never changed that horrible headache rack. I am building my own bed on my '06 dually, with rolled sides and a formed headache rack, look at the pics in my gallery, but a nice looking shortbed i saw the other day was made by CM flatbeds, i think they have a website, and also B&W has some pics of one on a shortbed, but its 7 feet long, 7' wide, a little bulky, but nice www.turnoverball.com , hope that helps...

yeh, the maroon superduty, bronco on its side and the tractor are my buddy's, he seems to have bad luck with trucks, but anyway if anybody needs a bumper, PM me, because Dixie Manufacturing has gotten a little complicated, it was started by my college rommate and myself at his shop in Alabama, and then when i graduated, he kept the company going and bought more equipment, but has now pretty much stopped making bumpers and just does artwork and structural steel items, but i can get him to make one for any of you guys on here, kinda special exception type deal, i'm about to make one for my '06, so we will be designing that soon, but thats the reason the website is never updated, anyway they're real nice and powdercoated now so just keep us in mind for any type of fabrication you might need.
