Interesting findings....
I listen to the shut down of my engine from time to time... I can hear the turbo spin and slow down to a stop by putting my ear to my AEM filter. After shutdown, it normally takes 10 to maybe 15 seconds before it slows to when I cannot hear it anymore and I assume it has almost completely stopped. Recently, thru doing research on Bobistheoilguy.com, I purchased some LC20 which is an oil additive. I put 6oz in my engine oil. Here is the crazy part. Everything else remaining the same, temperature, shutdown time, etc., my turbo spins for 25 - 30 seconds before I cannot hear any more spinning. Can this oil additive be that beneficial? Added some to my wifes car and she never notices anything but she now tells me it's running smoother.
My wife's 7.3 Excursion does the same thing but I hear it through the tail pipe. No Kitty and straight through Muffler. Have not heard it on the Ram though. (Ram has the Kitty). I woud have to think that the Mo spin the Mo better. If I can find LC20 I will try it in the 7.3.
The extra spin time means less friction, and that means less metal to metal contact and that means longer lasting parts and if you have an engine temp gauge you should see a lower oil temp and that will really payoff in heavy traffic or in a heavy tow load,or in some heavy duty drag or pulling races.

1oz every so often to replenish the additives that get depleted...? probably?
