Interesting rail pressure findings

I was hammerin on my truck last night just for fun and in 4th, 5th and 6th gear I got the rp up to the 27,500 mark on my dipricol rail guage.

The interestin thing to me is that I had my tst on standard 4/2 and my mp8 OFF turned completely turned down but still on the truck. After the first time I made sure the mp8 was off then after the second time I made sure that somehow the tst rp was not on and it in fact was not.

Everytime I saw the high readings I was way into the redline. It is hard to watch all the guages at once but I would say between 3100 and peak, wich is about 3400 I think.

Anybody have any explanation for me?

Stay out of that RPM Range and you should be fine! What is your Reading while having the Modules turned on???

From what I understand dipricol is having some serious issue with the stepper motors used in these gauges.

I would take that 27,500 reading with a grain of salt, especially with the MP8 off.

Yep DiProcol is having issues.

I ordered my RP almost 3 weeks ago now...got notification today that their recent batch of gauges had lots of issues...so backorder it is. No fun when I am trying to finish everything on my truck by 1/12!

My gauge has acted funny a few times...

The next time I started my truck...it was back to giving me the readings I expect. It was in the cold too...when it acted up.

Cruzing at 26,000 psi? Ya right. Spiked past 30,000 psi...ya right.

Something was fishy....turned the truck off, started it back up...and it was like it reset and everythign was as expected.

NO----- what I'm telling you is that if you are concerned about the Fuel Pressure------ you NEED TO BACK OFF THE THROTTLE BEFORE YOU GET TO THAT RAIL PRESSURE!!!! It is your call in the end-------but hey, is that ricer with nitrouse and turbo really worth having to rebuild your motor/replace injectors???? NO! I understand where you are coming from, in the sense that you have built your Truck to go fast and that the Rail Pressure is holding you back in your mind----------"IF YOU PLAY WITH FIRE----YOU WILL GET BURNT!!

It's not unusual to see that pressure especially not at those rpm's. It ain't good for the injectors and relief valve, but it will make that with stock programming.

Race or no, you are doing yourself or truck no favors by going that high in any gear except 6th. Shift at 2900 and you will probably gain ET and the rail pressures will stay manageable.

You won't out run a ricer top end but you can make them give up early.

Just to make sure we are clear I was bein sarcatic about the ricer, and top end is no good, 104 is all I can get on gps.

I can definately drive around it but I guess the point was I didnt think these trucks would run that much pressure on stock pressure settings.

cquestad, have you talked to Doug about this? Also what does your truck cuise at? I think mine is close to 20k.

no 6, your right I prolly would shift sooner but I was just playin and I honestly wanted to see how high my rail pressure would go with no rail pressure mods turned on.
