i need some suggestions

hey i have a 2003 dodge 2500 cummins with a 6 speed transmission and a 6 inch suspension lift, 3 inch body, and 37 inch tires. it also has an edge programer in it and an afe air filter. im in the process of putting a inch exhaust on it and was just wondering what other kinds of mods i should do to it. i want it to be able to tow anything i need to and to also be fast. another bonus would be for it to black smoke alot. it smokes now only when the programmer is turned up. i want it to smoke alot from takin when i take off. i want to buy some 80 hp injectors and was thinkin about stacking a bully dog with the crazy larry download with the edge that is already on there. i dont know much about diesel performance mods so any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks alot,

john

With those size tires your going to need tranny work. You could probably get away with an aftermarket tq converter and valve body, ats, goerand(SP), suncoast, dtt, etc... with my truck on the crazy larry tune in smokes like crazy and wont clear up at all, do you have a triple dog or another programer? Some might even recommend more tranny mods with those tires and performance mods.

i have and edge programmer not sure which one it is though. it came already on the truck. i asked someone on another diesel website and they said that you can stack the crazy larry with an edge programmer. once the truck needs knew tires i am going to take the body lift off and put 35's on it. if i do this will it be able to tow a fifth wheel trailer. thanks for the help

About towin a fifth wheel it all depends on how high the neck of the trailer is.

The best advice I can give you is to not get in a hurry, take a coupel of weeks or months and just sit back and read on this site and ask questions. All of the questions you have now will be answered and any others you may have in the future. This is a great site. You came to the right place.

80 hp injectors , crazy larry and an ez will drain your rail pressure as quick as you can blink. stay with your stock sticks and tune your truck with the crazy larry or tst and you will make great power. injectors will only add in draining the rail. you need a staqge 2 cp3 to run all 3 of them at thier full potential. i just saw you had an 03. no crazy larry yet for that year. do an tst and a ez stack or turn the bddl to extreme . alot of low end power in extreme. just have to turn the tst down to use it at its best.

if your running a 6ich lift and 35s your gonna have to flip the axles on your 5th wheel trailer and maybe even put blocks in it,my 2nd gen has only 33s and i had to flip my axles on the trailer and it still doesnt sit level.

With that size tires and a 6 speed, I would be looking at 4.10 gears. I think 3.73 is too tall for 35" tires and any real amount of towing. The gears are spaced to far apart.

It is a 6spd. You'll just need a aftermarket clutch http://www.southbendclutch.com/dodge.html
