herlp i need some suggestions
alright i just bought a 2003 qcsb 6 speed 2500 with a southbend dual disc clutch, 5 inch exhaust, industrial injection stage 2 cp3, aftermarket turbo, fass 95, and a Bully Dog torque dog box and a Van Aaken C3.2 box. well the other day i turned it up and was playin around with a chrysler 300. i went to get on it as the 300 passed me and there was a loud pop noise and it sounded like a loud hissing noise. i pulled over and checked it out. the exhaust manifold had cracked right where the pyro connects to it at and the pyrometer probe blew out and was just hanging there. i guess it was just from gettin too hot cause it was running pretty hot. i was just wondering what i should do. should i get rid the boxes and just get a smarty or a smarty junior or what would you recommend to keep it cooler. i guess i could always just not get on it but thats no fun. thanks for all the advice.
What kind of manifold was on it? Stock manifolds have a tendecy to crack at times. If it was an aftermarket unit you usually wont see any problems from them. Smarty is awesome and will definetly wake that beast up I had a torque dog module on my old truck and it was an injector killer I blew 2 sets before ditching it. Lots of pressure at any throttle point even at idle. I would ditch both of the boxes in favor of the smarty.
ya it was the stock manifold. would you suggest the regular smarty or the junior. i would really like to drag the truck so whatever sugestions you would think would help the best please let me no. thanks
ive had the truck for about two months and it came with everything on it. it got up around 14 or 1500 on the pyrometer guage but i had just started getting on it. i think it has probably been cracked for a while and just slowly getting worse. would you reccomend stacking the smarty with the other two boxes i have on it or should i take those two off and just put the smarty on. also what else would you reccomend me to do to it. i would like to make it into a drag truck and ive got about 2000 i can spend on it right now. i was thinking injectors and not sure what else. what kind of injectors and what size would you recomend. thanks for all the help
i second the smarty power is great and egt's seem to stay lower running at 1500 for any length of time can be risky as you found out stacking will get you more power but it raises egts with the extra fueling not sure about stacking the smarty with the boxes you have but just adding pressure will surely help let us know what size turbo you are running and i'm sure people on this forum will advise you how much fuel can safely be added
