I love my new DTT transmission!

Terry at Moonlight Diesel did a great job building my transmission full of DTT goodies! I really should've done this sooner. I went with the super single torque converter, billet input and flexplate, and also the DTT shift enhancer module. Prior to the transmission work, just driving my truck around would bring a smile to my face. But now...with the new tranny, I have a "sh*t eating grin" that just won't go away.

The shifts are smooth yet firm, and unlike my stocker, this tranny loves to be pushed hard. Terry was very pleased with the way this tranny turned out. He couldn't get it to do the 1-2-1 or 2-3-2 searching issue, and I've only noticed it once in about 200 miles.

Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase. I may be eating Top Ramen noodles three meals a day for the next year or so to recover from the depleted bank account, but all it takes is a lil drive in the truck to help me forget!

I'm waiting on a set of twins from Nathan at MPI, so as soon as I install those, I'll post up another report on how the tranny is liking the added power.

Jared

Congrats Jared!!! I know the money was tuff to let go of, but it sounds like you are going to be enjoying it for a long time to come.

I will be curious to see what you think about this upgrade a few more days/weeks from now.

FWIW, I am ready for trans upgrades too. I am looking at the same DTT set up but from a different builder. My stocker is still holding Smarty on level 9 and towing heavy.....so I just added an MP-8 to push it even harder...

And im torn about the "Super Single" vs. a "Triple disc".

I've had mine for a about a year now and would do it again in a heartbeat. Not having to worry about the tranny going BOOM is such a relief.

I got mine done this weekend also. Pretty slick rebuild process - I enjoyed learning how everything goes together, and also finding out where some of the stock parts don't cut the mustard.

How long did yours take? Mine was 7 hours from start to finish, but I didn't need a shift enhancer.

I've had mine for 6 months and love it....i do have the 2-3-2 issue once in a while, and would like to get that fixed....but level 9 on beta 4.4 makes everything perfect! :-)

Can't go wrong with a DTT...Single, Super Single, or Triple, they'll all be great!

If you guys don't mind what did you all pay for the tranny work? My local guy will do a freshen up with a super single TC,VB, billet input, billet flexplate, and shift enhancer for about 5200. Is that a good price?
