I am having a HPCR code every time I install my smarty. I have read a lot of posts on the issue but none tell me what is causing it. I have a smarty s-06 and even on catcher #3 my CEl light comes on. If anybody can point me in the rite direction I would apreciate it.

p0148 and today just got a p0251 cp3 pump regulator control , I dont know if the p0140 code can cause other codes to come up or if I have 2 problems

you say this occurs everytime you put your smarty on, does it do it instantly after you load your smarty on and start the truck up? or is it after you start to drive and lay into the throttle pretty good? reason im asking is because this could be cause by low fuel pressure, do you have a fp gauge? factory lift pump?
I too have the p0148 code, also does another member thats on this site and trying to get this whole deal figured out...

it only comes up when i get on the throttle pretty good, but sometimes ill just be cruising on the fwy and the code will pop up. Factory pump and no guage

Ok so now your in the same
boat as me, mines doin same thing, only I have gauges and a airdog lift
Pump. My first suggestion is since ur running a programmer is to find some nice gauges, either analog or a digital setup, not sayin that's gonna fix things for you but don't want to get things outta hand with no gauges and have a real issue when you don't want it. But now back to the problem at hand seems to me like the fca's seem to be a common problem with these codes. Do you know anyone else that you could borrow there fca and see if that fixes the problem? It could also be lift pump giving up, would be good if had a fp guage to see what it's dropping down to when the cel comes on.

ok ill try to borrow a fca ,does it matter if my truck is a 05 and i use a 03 or a 06?

I've lent out my stock 04.5 for an 06, I did not have any problems.

I have seen stuff similar to this, and it was a rail pressure sensor. Pull that connector and clean it, see what happens.

Make sure you have good power/batteries, I have also seen some batteries do some funny stuff.

Just pulled rail pressure sensor, everything looks fine, batteries are good as well.

I have the quadzillia commander, have had it probaly 3 years n have had good luck with it besides the old crappy style fuel pressure sender, but they have a better out for them now, I like it cause it will do all the norms plus fuel pressure and rail pressure. I helped my biddy put on a new edge insight cts, an let me tell you it's sweet!! Only downfall is it doesn't do fuel pressure to the cp3 but does everything else, plus touch screen and back up camera can be added also.. And if ur going after big power numbers it reads thru the ECM so if you went over 43 psi of boost it would stop reading. Also if u like simple auto meters and isspros are great for analog style.

Not 100% sure but I think the pulse v2 is to work with the adrenaline. You would want to go with the scout (new commander). Same display as the pulse , but meant to work standalone, just with for gauges...

I havnt gotten gauges yet but truck is getting worse. Pull out to pass going 60 and takes a long time to hit 70. Still smokes like it has a programmer just slow like its stock.also just got a fan speed code.
