How is the ride with a 20" wheel?
Im planning on buying some 20" wheels and I want to know if it will improve the ride. The way my truck is now (stock) the ride is like riding a bucking bronco.
When I bought my first 3rd gen it was a 1500 with the 20's on it it. Last time I will ever have a rim that size on a truck. You talk about a rough ride. One other thing that will jar you are pot holes. I replaced mine with 17's and put some meat between the rim and the road. Smoothed out the ride as well. Big wheels look great, but if your looking for comfort, in my opinion they are not going to work. Your bucking bronco will turn into a stampede.
On my 4X4 CTD I have 20's the ride is not that bad but the road noise is a lot more noticeable from the type of tires I'm running.
On my 4X2 Hemi I have 22's with 305/40/22 Toyo Proxis the handling is great on smooth road but on a not so smooth road you feel everything.

I very much like my 20's. I am running 305-50 R20 Goodyear Eagle II. I have 60,000 miles on them and counting. I think the ride and handling was worth it. And of course the looks.
you have to post in a wheel size, tire size, and tire brand to really get a good opinion on this.
I mean I have 22"s but with the 37's toyo's it has a great ride and road noise is is not hardly any worse than stock. My intake and exhaust or stock so there is no masking the sound. by fare the best riding lifted truck I had to date. now if you run stock height tires with 22's the ride would proably not be that great. I know 20's would be fine though on a truck as long as you had a good tire the right height.
so short story long if you want to run a larger wheel buy the right tire. if not you will probably notice it.

I have had KMC 20" wheels with 35" toyo tires....mine is the only 2nd gen on the team toyo website....its under the readers rides. Anyways the ride was beautiful, rode smooth and no troubles with any terrain. If yours rides like poo then maybe you should find a better dealer to do business with. If you have any more questions check out www.briansmotorsports.net he has 24's and toyo mt's on his burban and they even ride nice.

any low profile tires is gonna kill ya. i got two cars with low profiles, and over the same roads, it rattles your teeth.
but most of these guys are running a 20 with a huge tire with a huge sidewall.
sidewall flex and air psi gives you ride quality an takes out the grinding road noise. sidewall strenght gives you the load rating too, so there's a compromise.
20 rims are on e-bay for less $700, but think the tires are still good coin.

Fast, I wouldn't listen to midwest as he could be riding on cog wheels and he wouldn't hear it with that straight piped monster.
