How close to the turbo is the front-most cat/dpf/?/smog-thingy?
Is there some piece right after the turbo (I mean like a few inches), or are all the parts under the truck after the exhaust is going straight?
Thanx.

Not real close, there is the down pipe, then the cat, then DPF, then muffler in that order from turbo back. The DPF has the sensors in front and behind it.

About 4 inches of pipe before the first cat...
The downpipe is the part furthest away from the camera... then the first cat.
I'm not sure what that stuff is doing in my yard...

Thanx for posting guys, especially photos. So, with the downpipe I am looking at, is the fat lil' area right after the turbo flange (right?) a lil' cat?
The reason I am asking, is I was wondering something. I had an 04 hemi/Dodge, that I played w/cats on. I had a bypass off of the straight 3" that went through a cat w/sensors. I was wondering if one could have like a 3 inch, angled, pipe come off the exhaust before the first cat. Get an electric cut out. Then get 3" pipe going to the back of the truck.
I don't have a 6.7, and have not looked at the exhaust on one. I was just wondering if this was doable. I don't think I am on crack.
So, when not on the legal roads, have the cut-out open, & have a fair amount of exhaust going out the 3" and some going out the factory cork set-up.

I don't think that it will work with the 6.7... we unhooked a few of the sensors on my buddies truck just for craps and giggles, and it shut off.
Good luck with that.

Not a bad idea, tho. Just get a programmer that lets you turn that crap off. That, and if you are running a side pipe for it or something, and your truck goes into regen, you're going to have a fire.

It goes NOX, DOC and then DPF. The NOX is a precious metal cat, I believe, and I would say that it is no more restrictive than the rest, but looking at one I would say less restrictive. There are pictures of one cut open somewhere.
